Preparing for the Initial Consultation
What to bring to an initial consultation
When you come in for an interview with an attorney at Howard, McCoy & Bolton, LLP, we gather information about you, your marriage and family, the facts of your particular case and your financial information. Please bring as much of this information as possible to the initial appointment. This information will assist us in providing an assessment of your case. Items which are particularly useful include:
- Tax returns for the past three years
- Current paystubs with year to date amounts
- Health insurance documentation
- Child care costs
- Account statements (bank, investment, retirement, credit cards, loan and mortgage statements) for the date you physically separated from your spouse if you have already separated
- Any legal document including agreements, prenuptial agreements, orders or other court documents, especially pleadings (complaint, answer and reply) and court orders
- Any other evidence which you believe to be relevant to your matter
